Patch looks good for me. We need this integrated and then could start
improve it, current state is more worse than this patch.

As for aclocal.m4 intersection with Samba's one, may be you can include
samba's one instead of copying it over? So that examples/VFS/aclocal.m4
would contain only relevant changes to VFS.

It is better to enhance documentation than to introduce such modules, we
need to convert people to new VFS API.
