Hmm... interesting... hadn't considered that. I don't know about NT smb 
support requirements, but mine is default to on. Anyway, I added that, it 
didn't make any difference. I also built and installed kernel 2.4.19. Still 
no go.

ahrhrhrh...what a weird problem...
