Processing 'vfs options'

Some months ago, I sketched and tested some code into Samba (2.2.1a, I
think) to do pop-up messages.  One of very uses that I envisaged was by
just such vfs modules...

If we have the approval, in principle, of the Samba Team, I'd be delighted
to put this code into the melting-pot.

Thoughts?
