                         ^^^ As a side comment. Even though it appears
to be possible to trick gcc-3.0.x configure procedure to configure for
64-bit and even though it's capable of generating 64-bit apps, it's not
supported by gcc team and it's broken in several ways. So that people
should be encouraged to *resist* the temptation to use gcc-3.0.x for
compiling 64-bit apps. Once again this is a *side comment*. I've read
David right, he's using gcc to compile 32-bit and cc - 64-bit. A.
