samba 2.2.3a and "log level"

Hello,

I have just upgraded one of our samba servers to 2.2.3a (on a RH7.2) and
I notice that "log level" indicated in the smb.conf is not taken into
account.

# grep -i "log level" /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
         log level = 0
# testparm
Load smb config files from /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
<...>
         log level = 2
<...>

I also tried with debuglevel alias, but the result is the same.
It is a little bit annoying because it is a server for 600 stations and
I want to deactivate logs.

Is it a bug or did I forget something ?

Thanks.
