Winbindd - Samedit

Grant,

    I had this same trouble when implementing winbindd here.
I found that I could just join the domain the "old fashioned
way" using:

    smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r MACHINE

where DOMAIN is the domain name and MACHINE is the PDC name.
