Increasing/Decreasing log level in 2.2.x

Am I right in thinking that although the man pages for smbd and nmbd both still state that SIGUSR1 & 2 can be used to increase/decrease the log level of a running daemon, that this is no longer the case. Looking in the code for debugging, the bits for SIGUSR in 2.0.7 are gone in 2.2.x, and the only way I can get the log levels changed on a running process is to use the smbcontrol program or edit smb.conf and issue a SIGHUP. Am I missing something or do the man pages need updating?
