Are you suggestion that Samba Team/Cifs
and Microsoft should work together on this ?

Could be a "win-win" situation; both ways.

On a personal level; I found the
"Microsoft, Samba, Public, Solution"
in one sentence highly ironic :)

Anyway, I follow this debate with interest.
