Different behavior of smbd on Solaris 2.5.1 and Solaris 8

We are using Samba 2.0.7 in Clearcase environement.
About 100  NT clients working with Vobserver ( E420 Solaris8 ) and 
Viewserver ( E250 Solaris 2.5.1 )

On vob server (Solaris 8) smbd processes perform many system calls
(getpid,kill,semsys, poll) so system is continuous spend more time to
"system" than "user", and on the view server i don't see same calls -
all looks 
fine : many read/write calls and a few other activity.

Anybody  have idea  - what's wrong?
