OK, I have checked the times coming back from Samba, and they seem OK, I
will have to check Windows 95 soon ...

What would help is a tcpdump trace of the network traffic for those systems
that return Jan 1 1970 ... You can get it this way:

   tcpdump -i eth0 -s 1500 -w somefile.cap

and then compress it and uuencode it and sent it to me.
