Hmmm, what NICs does this happen for?

I have just tested for Win95 from Linux, but Win95 was running under VMware
under Linux :-)

I used FTP to get an 8MB file ... Windows advertised an 8760 window, and
Linux filled the window with consequitive 1460 byte segments, back to back.
They were within a few milliseconds of each other. Often, Windows acks with
a window update to 8760 within a few milliseconds, sometime it updates with
a window of 1460 ...

Next, I will get a trace using SMB.

I look at these traces with Ethereal. It tells you so much more than tcpdump.
