smbsh problem

 Hi all,
 
 
 I need help in getting my smbsh working....
 
 1. I have installed samba 2.0.7 on freebsd 3.2
 machine..
 
 2. i get following error on running smbsh
 
  'smbw: shared variables corrupt (Invalid argument)'
 
 I am also facing one more problem (may be this one is
becuase of some config problem but didn't find any
documentation on it)
 'smbclient -L server -U user' , where 'server' is a
winNT 4.0 m/c, gives "access denied" error....
