Browsing in a multi-workgroup environment

Hi,

I have noticed a difference between browsing in a network with only one
workgroup and a network with more than one workgroup.

I can see where in a network with more than one workgroup, a client issues
a NetServerEnum request and it asks for reply info consisting only of the
server names, while in a network with only one workgroup, it asks for all
the info available for each server.

How does the client figure out that there is more than one workgroup on the
network?
