ERROR: No disk free routine!

I am planning to set up a Sambaserver to maintain a network with about 50 
NT4-Workstations. 

The specs on the server:
4 intel pentium 133 Mhz processors
Free-BSD v3.0

I have downloaded the last CVS tree but when I'm running the configure
script I get this error:

ERROR: No disk free routine!
configure: error: summary failure. Aborting config

I have the command df and it is working.

There is no problem with the samba port to Free-BSD but it is only 1.9.18p10 
and I have heard that it dosn't support NT4-Domains.
 
Can someone tell me what to do? I'm wondering if I have to change to Linux to get
it up and working.

I hope that someone can help me.
