TNG works with Win2k, fails with Win98

no!  please don't do that, no-one _else_ will be able t use tng at _all_
if you do that.

[to say that i care more about nt than win9x implies that i have some sort
of feeling towards win9x, when i would actually be happier if it dropped
off the face of the earth.]

so, i care more about nt users than win9x, so please don't make any
changes that will lock out nt.
