ldap/tdb question

After compiling the TNG (2.5) (linux 2.2.10) with "./configure
--with-sam-pwdb=passdb --with-ldap",
the logs shows that tdb stuff (tdb_read, tdb_fetch,...) is used.
Is this correct?
I think the passdb/ldap is skipped by tdb calls... true?
