Logon scripts & username with spaces

I am using samba-2.0.5a as a NT domain for Win98 clients. The logon scripts
work perfectly as long as the user doesn't have spaces in his USERNAME
(apparently %U). It seems that Win98 is unable to execute the batch file [
logon script = %U ] for some reason when it contains spaces in it. Has
anyone encountered this problem and managed to solve it some way?
