Non so se ho capito bene ciò che dici: vuoi creare una share Public su 
un server linux e in smb.conf inserisci

>         guest ok = yes
>         guest only = yes
>         create mode = 0777
e non ti funziona? guest account = nobody... hai un utente nobody? Tieni 
conto che "This user must exist in the password file, but does not 
require a valid login" 
(http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/smb.conf.5.html#GUESTACCOUNT)

Se hai un utente nobody allora tale utente ha i permessi in /home/public?

Ma la password NT te la chiede quando tenti di accedere al server o alla 
share?


Le cose che ti ho scritto non centrano niente? Scusa allora ma non ho 
ancora capito.
