After years, bug 1959 still exists in rsync 3.0.2 :-(

rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4092 bytes [sender]: Broken pipe (32)
io timeout after 30 seconds -- exiting
rsync error: timeout in data send/receive (code 30) at io.c(239) [sender=3.0.2]

My rsync options are "--one-file-system --archive --xattrs --delete-before
--update --timeout=0".

The job is to backup an entire filesystem onto a USB drive. Generating the
directories-list takes nearly an hour. And some time after that, I receive this
error.

My working hypothesis is that the receiver-rsync cannot cope with a write()
call to need more than 30 seconds, but I'm not sure.
