repeatable disconnections when rsyncing over ssh

No firewall on both sides but receiving side is behind linux 2.6.11.10 router 
doing nat and firewall.

I was thinking that maybe this is some window_scalling problem but disabling 
window scalling on sending, receiving and router side didn't help.
