Sorry I did not put in the command earlier. Here is the command I used for
the first and second run
Rsync --verbose --stats --recursive 192.168.1.1::home /usr/home/fileserver/
Though the second time long less time than the first time (ran for3 days) it
still took over 4 hours.
I need to run it again this time with the permissions option to bring the
permissions over. Whats the quickest way to do this.

Please show the command-lines you used. What to create and
what to update. Most likely you are misspecifying paths but
you might also be using an option.
Apparently you don't know the rules yet about how to ask
questions on a mailing list. That might be partly our fault
since the "read first before posting" link no longer goes to
an informative page.
