BUG: logging on the wrong side with 2.5.6

This status lines should show up nowhere or on the client side to tell the
user that the process is still alive. At the moment every directory handled
is listed in the logfile. (There are quite a lot directories...)

This is a new bug -- it appeared in 2.5.6.
