1. Dr Alan Finkel, Fedgov Chief Scientist, was commissioned by COAG Energy Council to prepare a "National Hydrogen Strategy”. easy to find online.

This  initiative is based on Japan committing to buy 300,000 tonnes/yr of Hydrogen by 2030 and a long-term commitment to swap to a hydrogen economy. It imports 94% of its energy.

South Korea has also signed an MOU with Australia to buy Hydrogen.

Price per GJ offered by Japan is A$33/GJ in 2030 and A$22/GJ long-term, around 2x current $10/GJ for natural gas.


2. Toyota has been developing a Hydrogen Fuel cell car for some time.
Has a development facility in Altona.
