For the last few months I have been using Seafile. I run the Seafile
server on my home server, an Asus EEE PC. But they also offer hosted
solutions like Dropbox.

I use git-annex to manage multiple copies on USB hard drives. I use the
plain command-line git annex, not the "assistant", which I never got
working properly.

For long term backups I push to Amazon Glacier.
