Personally I've never had a problem with NetworkManager when it's configured
correctly.  For a MythTV server and/or front end, I don't see using
NetworkManager as a big disadvantage - it's hardly a load on the system and
unless you have scripts to set up your networking automatically some other
way, it's one less thing to have to hand configure.

I also run my MythTV server on CentOS 6.  There's a repository out there
somewhere that has 0.27 available, but I'm still using 0.24 just fine.
