Hi there!

A quick note first: you've posted this to the Canberra Linux Users Group
mailing list.  It's on the Samba list server, but we're not focused on Samba
per se.

So, you may prefer to email a more Samba-relevant list :-)  Or, can you tell
us a bit more about what went wrong?  What error messages did you get?

I suspect your main problem is that you're using /root as a directory for
other people to use; /root is supposed to be only used for the home
directory of the root user.  SELinux, if nothing else, is going to not let
you share anything from there.
