I am keeping an eye on Plexus http://plexus.relationalspace.org/ since it was announced at the Australian PyCon but I haven't seen a lot of activity lately. I hope something good comes out of it.

Also I saw http://themineproject.org/ recently.

I haven't been compelled to focus my hopes on any one project yet. There seems to be a lot of projects looking to solve a similar set of problems, hopefully something good comes out of them all.
