The "correct" way is that ConsoleKit / udev should be adding an ACL to the
device when you log in, allowing you access in line with the policy.  This
*should* be automatically put in place by Fedora.

Usually, though, you can also add a user account to the 'audio' group to
statically allow access to the sound devices, since they are conventionally
shoved into that.

Finally, failing anything else you can adjust / write udev rules to override
the system default permissions.


I suggest identifying why ConsoleKit / udev ACL management isn't working,
though, since you will have more and more problems like this one if you don't
look to resolving that.

It could be a user group management issue, or perhaps a ConsoleKit
configuration or something...
