For the debian/ubuntu'ites, it is as simple as this:
$ sudo apt-get install dnsmasq
dnsmasq even does DHCP and all sorts of other fun stuff too. I still
use dhcpd3 though if only because I know the config file syntax for
PXE group booting with tftpd and haven't bothered to learn dnsmasq's!
