* Install is completely text based
* Completely customisable
* Full install uses 4.8gb but there are other versions of slackware that can go under 1gb.
* Installer will not stop you messing up your system!
* Slackware 13 uses KDE4.2, Slackware 12 uses KDE3.5
* Packages are simple tar.gz with a script. See www.slacky.eu and http://slackbuilds.org/ for more
* Use rpm2tgz to convert Red Hat packages to Slackware.
Not sure if I missed anything.

See also www.slax.org for a very nice small version of Slackware, although this may now be Knoppix based for the LiveCD part.
