I found this e-book last year and it includes most of the basic data
you'd need to
calculate things like that.

For example, 3 kWh/day is the energy requirements of one person. I'm not
about how much extra CO2 you'd generate, but only a vegan would approach
3 kWh/day
in input energy, other forms of food take energy to create (chapter 13
a dairy cow requires 24 kWh/day).

Page 79 has some rough math that suggests that walking is on average 22
times more
energy efficient than driving. So you are still more efficient than an
combustion engine which is 25%. So if a coal fired power station is
30-40%, you
are still going to be more efficient. Except... That's gross energy, not
all your
walking or peddling energy will be converted and stored as electrcity.

Life cycle energy costs are fascinating. Even simple systems end up
being complex.
