	My thanks to all those who responded to my query.  I have got the message 
that it would be prudent to replace both drives but I am a bit puzzled.  Of 
the two one I notice I have dated 2003 so that could be failing but the other 
I think is only a few months old.  Is there any Linux equivalent to Nortons 
that would give me a graphical presentation of the drive showing where are 
faulty or unreadable sectors?
