[clug] diminishing dependancies

Had an unpleasant setback last night.
I wanted some more space on an opensuse11.0 cluster node I'd just built.
Went into the YaST package manager and started deleting useless stuff.
It comes with a good dependency-checker, so when I say, "delete that",
 it points out that 3 other packages depend on it.  "Beauty", I reply, 
 "they can go too."  Well I was watching but it must have slipped
 a warning past me, because when I clicked, "Do it"
 it performed the RPM equivalent of  "rm -rf /".
Couldn't stop it, eventually it deleted RPM leaving me with 2/3 free space!
Oh, and so many error windows to dismiss; that I pulled the plug.
Now where did I put that installation DVD...
