I have had a Konica minolta 1400 for about 18 months, works fine.
Just don't ever take the cartridge out unless you want to change it,  
because it gives an error message which won't go away
Cost was approx  $85.

Not a laser printer but a print/scan/copy device; Brother 560CN, network  
printer, only had to download Brother-lpr-drivers-extra
package to get printer to work, and download scanner driver from brother.
Nice quiet machine, $99 with $50 cashback (if you can get it).
