Fred,
I just bought an HP Pavilion DV6000 and installed Ubuntu 6.06 without a
hitch and to date have not run into trouble. I had about 240mb worth of
downloads during update though.
My 2 cents worth is to install Ubuntu and check it out then move to SuSE.
