Hmmmm.  Does the dv9000 have lights to tell you whether Bluetooth and Wifi
have been activated?  For me on my Dell Inspiron 6400, I know that there's a
button - Fn-F2 - that activates or deactivates the hardware directly.  I think
you see some message about the radio being deactivated in the kernel message
log.  I know this is a stupid question, but it's worth eliminating the obvious
ones first.
