I'm not an expert and I'm sure someone else has the right answer, but
looks like the kernel tree you're _building against_ has 'custom' on the
end if its extraversion. Either build this new kernel and boot to it, or
fix the extraversion issue.
I don't think that should be edited, try '
/usr/src/linux/Makefile' instead and re-build.
