[clug] Problem installing modules

I am trying to install modules for a NI GPIB-USB-HS interface.

dmesg contains:

nipalk: version magic '2.6.17-14mdvcustom SMP mod_unload 686 gcc-4.1' should be '2.6.17-14mdv SMP mod_unload 686 gcc-4.1'


cat /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h

uname -r
2.6.17-14mdv


See the inconsistancy. Do I hand edit /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h ?
