Not so much the law, but the application and enforcement of the law. In the
USA, possession of a marker pen (can be used to defeat copyright protection
on some CD's) technically can get you 6+ years jail. Just another tool of
convenience for inbred, corporatised govt institutions.
I could make a comment about stupid people electing stupid govt's but will
refrain from doing so. ;->
