It rather reminds me of the Encyclopedia Galactica's entry about alcohol:

"Here's what the Encyclopedia Galactica has to say about alcohol. It says that
 alcohol is a colorless volatile liquid formed by the fermentation of sugars
 and also notes its intoxicating effect on certain carbon-based life forms."

I wouldn't expect the Encarta entry to mention Pan Galactic Gargleblasters.

Wikipedia OTOH tells you where you can get Linux, how to install it, and
what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterwards. :o)
