Excellent advice, though I'll just insert a note of caution where
Silastic is concerned. Should you choose to use the stuff, make sure
you select a neutral cure variant and not one of the acidic ones.

Personally I'd keep any such compounds away from that double sided PCB
if I could. Judging by your photo, if you can directly terminate those
wires to the PCB there doesn't look to be a need for additional strain
relief. As for insulation, 12VDC isn't going to leap across ~10mm of
air even if you do screw up and fail to keep the wire's insulation in
place.
