Hi Paul, 
 With regular dvb cards around 80 bucks nowadays transact is just not worth the
 bother for this. vlc already works out of the box, you can easily write a
 script to launch vlc based on times found in the db from mythtv, and even
 insert the program into the db so you can watch using mythtv. Other than maybe
 watching foxtel that way, there is no point though. I believe many of the
 foxtel channels are encrypred so you cant multicast them (e.g. disney channel).
