take a look at m0n0wall. I'm not sure if it can do the really sexy "virtual
network" side of stuff you seem to want,
but it can still do a fair bit

Some of you are LCA2005 would have experienced the way the ANU main
wireless network issues DHCP and sets up small subnets, per client.

Anyone know of any OS project doing similar?
