Speaking of tuner interference, when I installed our wireless server
(Linksys WRT54G) at home, my housemate bought himself a wireless card to
use, to save cables criss-crossing the house.

But he discovered that when he's actively using the wifi card
(downloading something from the web), then the TV image from his digital
TV card (I can't remember which brand, sorry) goes to pieces - the image
freezes up, goes jerky. When the download is complete, the TV image
goes back to normal.

I don't believe it's anything like an IRQ conflict on the motherboard.
As I understand it, digital receivers behave like this when the signal
is very weak. My housemate is just using a table top antenna. Maybe
connecting to the rooftop antenna might help, but if he's going to get
an extra cable like that then he might as well just get a long ethernet
cable and forget about wireless.

Has anyone experienced this sort of interference before? Is there any
obvious solution?

Drew
