[clug] Australian Spam Act 2003

Hi Mikal,

I have had advice from lawyers in the matter of the anti-spam laws and
it is unsettling and I really think it is not that simple. Firstly
most laws aren't much use until they're tested in court and in addition
most lawyers haven't a clue about technology so what you get is bad
legal advice based on bad or non-existant technological understanding
with no precedent to base it on.

This is an area which does interest me mainly because of the absurd
things I have heard about it so far. Perhaps CLUG could explore this
further somehow.

I should also note that I consider the "offending" email quite proper
for this list, in fact to be encouraged and I don't see how there is
any reasonable way of thinking this email broke this law.
