Slackware is also a Linux Distro (one of the oldest).

I have the same 2 albums ("come away with me" and "feels like home") and
ripped them with a Gnome application called grip (gnome rip) I have used
the same tool on Redhat, Debian, Suse and others successfully.

I know there are other ripping tools but grip has worked on everything I
have tried to date (It's also simple to use).

If you want to try out grip go to http://www.nostatic.org/grip/ or you
can get it as part of Debian stable.

http://packages.debian.org/stable/sound/grip.html

You should also be able to install from your Sid CD's or do an aptget
grip.

Cheers

Scott

In particular I've two: "came away with me" and "feels like home". Both
from blue note and experience the same problem with both while I've not
problem with others... I've tried ripping these cds with xcdroast.
Which backend did you use ? cd2wav ?

tnx,
