Hi Cluggers,

I am very close to getting approval from my Chinese employers to import
another "Foreign Expert" to Beijing, to work in my team.

The role is full-time for an initial 3 months, with a good chance of an
additional 3 month extension.

The project is a news portal website. We're building, pretty much from
scratch, a portal to support seven English language publications (mostly
touristy stuff).

We need a web programmer with demonstrable skill in the Zope Content
Management Frameworks and the Plone CMS. Needless to say this makes Python
a prerequisite. The successful applicant will also need to speak MySQL and
PHP. We're hosting on Red Hat.

The challenges, frankly, are pretty simple in terms of technology. We're
not doing anything particularly new or innovative, but the end result will
emerge as Beijing's premier English-language news and information site.

The money is not great by Australian standards (it never is in China), but
it is more than enough to live a very, very nice expat lifestyle for the
term of the contract. Also, the job will look great on the successful
applicant's resume, and excellent references will be given. Who knows, the
applicant may even decide to stay in Beijing, in another job in the city's
burgeoning (and very very Linux friendly) high-tech sector.

Our group is located in central Beijing, in a modern world-class office
building. The food is great and the people are possibly the friendliest in
the world. I'll gladly show the successful applicant how the city works, so
that "arriving" is easy and painless. No knowledge of Chinese language is
needed -- we develop in English.

As I said in my opening para, I am close to approval. What I need is a
brilliant applicant to close the deal. Any takers?
