[clug] MRTG / Cricket query.

I want to be able to extract byte count values from a router to measure
the number of bytes transferred through a given
Port over a period of time. Can I do this with MRTG or Cricket, or is
there something better out there.
I don't actually want the graphibg side of things. My preference would
be a cronjob that makes an snmp query and resets the counter after
getting the current value.

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

  John
