Squirrelmail works great for me. Sending from it right now in fact.
Incredibly esay to configure, very light weight, works with elinks if need
be and highly configurable. Oh and works just fine over SSL - something
I'm doing right now and took all of 5 minutes to setup. Plus you can do
nice stuff like store user prefs and address books in a mysql database
rather than flat files.
