Something is well amiss here. These IPs are the 13 root DNS servers of 
the internet.
{192.36.148.17, 192.203.230.10, 128.8.10.90, 192.33.4.12 etc. etc.}
The Linux box is systematically quereying the root DNS servers trying to 
resolve something. Even if the packetts make it to the servers, they're 
never gonna return cos 10.*.*.* is a private subnet range. Are you 
running 'bind' on the lniux box?
Nonetheless, edit /etc/resolve.conf to say
nameserver   10.0.0.11

or whatever, so that it's got somewhere more practical to look.
Change the order of name resolution. run 'netconf' goto 'host name 
resolution'. You'll probably want   hosts, WINS, DNS  

if this get's nowhere, could you post the output of 'arp' and 'route'.
